ESG Trust Mark
ESG Trust Mark is a structured and professional pathway for organizations and companies that want to assess their real position in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters in a transparent, documented, and credible way.
The process is designed so that organizations can first gain a clear picture of their current position through a free initial stage and, when ready, move forward into deeper assessment and certification stages.
Its methodology is informed by a combination of internationally recognized general and sector-specific frameworks. At the global level, it draws on recognized references such as the GRI Standards, IFRS S1, and IFRS S2. At the European level, it also reflects relevant principles and expectations under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) where applicable. In addition, relevant ISO-based management and governance references, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 37301, may be considered as supporting benchmarks depending on the nature, scope, and operational profile of the organization.
The process is also tailored to the nature of each organization’s activities. This means that the review logic for a bank, hospital, hotel, educational institution, logistics company, retail center, or other type of organization is not treated in the same way. Instead, sector-specific considerations are incorporated to ensure that the assessment is relevant, proportionate, and professionally aligned with the realities of each field.
From the outset, the process is intended to create real value. At the free stage, organizations do not simply receive a generic result. Based on the information they provide, the data extracted, and their submitted responses, they receive a professional report on their current position. This report may include an overview of their current ESG standing, key strengths, major gaps, and priority areas for improvement. It provides a practical basis for deciding whether and how to proceed to the next stage.
Organizations that choose to continue can then move into a more advanced stage, where responses, practices, claims, and performance are reviewed in greater depth on the basis of submitted information, supporting evidence, and professional evaluation. Such evidence may include sustainability reports, internal policies and plans, existing certifications or approvals, operational records, photographs, videos, and other relevant supporting documents.
The entire pathway is designed to be completed online, step by step, enabling organizations to move through the process with greater clarity, structure, and readiness. It allows them first to understand their current position, then identify the main gaps, and, where the requirements are met, proceed to formal assessment and the granting of certification and label use.
ESG Trust Mark is not simply a title or a label. It is an opportunity for organizations to assess themselves in a more structured, evidence-based, and professionally aligned way; to gain a clearer view of their improvement path; and to strengthen their readiness for more effective engagement with markets, stakeholders, investors, business partners, and other key audiences.
